After stepping through the gateway to the world on which her Red House had been established millennia ago, Syil looked back as the door disappeared in a shower of red sparks.  The cold wind was the first greeting Syil received.  The desolate rocky terrain of the Tower holding was the only civilisation in sight.  Syil made her way there.

Before long, she was greeted by three older girls, each a Rank higher than the other.  The most senior of them, Damanien, was tough but fair with Syil on that very first day, brutally tough.

After her introduction to the Red Work, to which Syil had already agreed, sight unseen -- the war demanded her all -- she made her way up to her room, one of four, on the fifth floor of her dorm.
That's where she met Klarissa.
