[An Adolescent Memory]

Inexplicably, a memory of a Jr. High friend wanting to make a hand-phaser from a ketchup packet by a single pinprick to the pouch.  He squeezed the packet and it worked, and a thin red line appeared -- on his forehead.

I had then laughed, but with such ill-luck of my own on numerous occasions, my empathy kicked-in and I tried to lessen the blow, but, the gutting damage done; he was so miffed, so embarrassed.

Weird how that came back to me with no related event or image.
I wonder how he's doing...

I have been trying to record, but between my room acoustics and ambient house noise, nothing decent has come from it; I have even tried to transcribe from .mp3, but so far haven't had much success.

I will keep at it.

[Writing Updates]

I have: completed writing, AYRQTHON: KING ROOK & RIDER, but now comes the typographical editing pass, which I am hoping to use AI, since I'm stingy and on a shoestring budget.

I am: writing MATRIARCHY: SISTERHOOD, but a brief technical hiccup cost me a few days

I must: go back to Green Ruins & Shallow Blues series Book II: FRUITFUL.  Most of it is just how I want it, but towards the end, my own life was so chaotic that certain characters' relationships or actions were sub-optimal in a way which wouldn't enhance the story.  In particular, one character just flounders when he had been pretty pivotal in Book I: UNDONE.
