Castle Doctrine

I was watching a video about affluent enclaves in the US, and one mansion reminded me of the Hurst mansion outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada which I visited one afternoon back in 2002 or 3.  My host, a native, seemed upset that I wasn't impressed.

The truth is this: when I was 5, I had toured multiple European castles, and so it is difficult to impress me with lesser things.

Likewise, my father, being an immigrant and my mother being 1st generation American, I had not only seen sites of historical importance when I was 2 on our trip through Europe by car, but had already been exposed to about a dozen countries' cultures, language, and architecture, let alone natural wonders, that when others had talked about visiting amazing to them locations, I was unimpressed with their choices while still finding their desires interesting for their reasons.

When I met you, Marissa, I was impressed beyond words.

I couldn't stand all the ads while listening to my playlists on YouTube, where I had been happily listening for years, so I downloaded Pandora again.

My new channel was playing your songs, and a mix of other performers and acts, when, Ventura Highway, by America, came on.

Wow, I can't remember the last time I had heard it all the way through.  ...

The combination of your, The Sun Always Reminds Me of You, and, the acoustic guitar on Ventura just made me so glad, -- truly happy that I have met you; both musically, and of course, personally -- and the beautiful gift of guitar I have received from this -- Whew!  Girl, you have rocked my world!  I will never be the same, and so happy everytime I hear lovely acoustic guitar, like yours...  Your ear for the instrument is spiritual, not just mechanical.   My inspiration, Marissa, truly.
