[I Spy'd With My Ear...]

I enjoy Les Baxter's work and listened to this track and was immediately struck by a curious feeling of déjà vu.  I knew that I had heard something startlingly similar to it before: and, I had:

1968: The Day Begins -- The Moody Blues

1958: A Distant Star -- Les Baxter

The shimmering beds, the cadences, shared language, but -- I mean, ...c'mon, inspiration, at the very least, no?

With only 12 Keys, it is difficult not to run into instances of parallel progressions and so forth, but I think this one is a species of clear method-emulation to say the least.

No accusations -- Kettle Black -- but, still, it caught my ear and I thought to share it with you,
